The idyllic conservation village of Findhorn has lots of local amenities. The charming former fishing village, in addition to restaurants and coffee bars, has two local pubs, including the popular Kimberley Inn. The cottage enjoys a front garden directly overlooking the beautiful bay – an ideal place to view the Northern lights.
The cottage is next to the Findhorn Sailing Club (and the Royal Yacht Club) and is one of the major sailing and water sports centres along the coastline. The area also offers spectacular wildlife, including a seal colony, dolphins, along with a vast array of visiting birds, including the Ospreys that can be seen fishing in the bay. There is also flora and fauna to be enjoyed in the nearby Culbin Woods and beach, which stretch along the coast. The nearby historic town of Forres provides convenient shopping with traditional butchers, bakers and grocery shops plus quaint cafes, restaurants and local pubs.
As owners of a local distillery, special whisky tastings and tours can be provided on request.
