Tamdhu. Born on the banks of the River Spey in 1897 - an era when anything seemed possible, an age of the CAN-DHU-SPIRIT.

Built by a consortium of merchants and gentlemen of the whisky trade, they enlisted the ingenuity of Charles C Doig Esq – the preeminent distillery architect and engineer of the day to build the most advanced distillery yet devised, toproduce the finest whisky in the world.

A SPIRIT REBORN TODAY, Tamdhu’s quality is defined by the hint of peat in our malted barley and our water is drawn directly from the Tamdhu spring. Once distilled, only the best European and American oak sherry casks are then selected to mature the precious spirit. These sherry casks are amongst the finest in the industry and are of the same type insisted upon by the ownersback in 1897, with a high proportion being first-fill and teeming with flavour. These traditions create a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky worthy of the name Tamdhu – a spirit our founders would recognise as their own.

Tamdhu Distillery is open for one day only, during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
