Highland Spirit Bed and Breakfast is situated in the village of Dufftown, the Malt Whisky Capital of the World, in the heart of Speyside.  It is an ideal accommodation base for the Malt Whisky and Castle Trails.  We are situated in a quiet, elevated location with wonderful views.  Just a few minutes, walk away from the village centre which has places to eat and shops etc.

We aim to provide a high level of comfort and service.  We have been awarded the Visit Scotland 4-star prestigious GOLD rating (for exceptional customer care) and we are the No 1 on Trip Advisor for Moray, Speyside and Malt Whisky Trail.  We have been coveted the “Taste Our Best” award for the use of local and quality Scottish produce.

Highland Spirit is a listed building of around 1830, and has undergone major refurbishment, retaining all the character whilst making it a modern and luxurious bed and breakfast. The Georgian and Victorian features include original fireplaces, sash windows, panelling, cornicing and ceiling roses. We use authentic chalky emulsion in historical colours created by the Scottish paint firm, Craig and Rose, established in 1829. Previous occupiers of the Bed and Breakfast have included a Mackintosh family, Grants the Coppersmiths and the Exciseman at Mortlach Distillery. The accommodation at the rear of the building was a branch of the North of Scotland Bank and includes entrance, walk-in safe, bank office and Manager’s bedroom.

Our beds (can be superking or twin) and showers are of a high hotel standard.  Each of the 3 spacious ensuite rooms are individually themed to the history of the house, and are characterful with uncommon details.

If there is anything we can do to help please let us know and we hope that we can welcome you to Dufftown.

Karen and Alistair
