Speyside Distillery, Glen Tromie.

One of Speyside's best kept secrets... Speyside Distillery, A small, hand-built, artisan distillery nestled amongst the foothills of the beautiful Cairngorm Mountains, still hand distilling in time-honoured traditions and widely acknowledged to be amongst the prettiest of all Scotland’s distilleries Originally a barley mill and croft dating back to the 1700's it closed in 1965. Over the next 25 years it was slowly and lovingly converted into a single malt distillery, which started producing spirit in 1990. The distillery draws it’s pure water from the Spey River tributary -The River Tromie, using the original mill lade which powered the waterwheel for the old mill. The distillery itself was hand-built and the full production is housed under one roof. Please note that the distillery is not open to the public. Visits to the distillery can be arranged by private appointment and we offer exclusive events during the Spirit of Speyside Festival. Proud producers of multi Award Winning Spirits including the Best Single Cask, Single Malt in the World 2021
