Whisky Tasting: Glenfiddich with Mark ThomsonBack to events listing
- 3 May
- St James Hall
Little could William Grant, the founder of The Glenfiddich Distillery, have known as he watched the first pure spirit flow from his second-hand copper stills on Christmas Day 1887, that Glenfiddich would still be owned and run by his family over five generations later.
Over 125 years later, Glenfiddich’s range of single malts have become the most awarded whiskies in the world, a true reflection of the passion, integrity and pioneering spirit passed down through all five generations of William’s family.
Mark Thomson is not only a disruptor in the whisky industry but he is also a deconstructer. In this tasting Mark will be deconstructing Glenfiddich 21 Years Old and Fire & Cane. For the Glenfiddich 21 Years Old you will get to taste an unfinished cask strength Glenfiddich 21 Years Old, the rum used for the finishing and the final finished 21 Years Old. Similarly, for the Glenfiddich Fire & Cane you will get to try heavily peated Glenfiddich, unpeated Glenfiddich, the rum used to finish Fire & Cane and then the Fire & Cane itself.
Mark is always informative and entertaining. This tasting will give Mark the opportunity to fully expose his talents and should not be missed.
