- 2 May
- The Memorial Hall
Join the Mates of the Whisky Museum and learn how we are progressing with the plans for the New Whisky and Heritage Centre in Dufftown.
The Spring Gathering is an opportunity for Mates of the Whisky Museum to get together and enjoy a few canapés and a dram or 2 as a prelude to the Whisky Festival.
This event is free to all Mates; if you would like to come to this event and you are not a Mate, you will need to join the Mates of the Whisky Museum.
The annual membership is £10.00 which entitles you to visit Dufftown and have a free nosing tasting evening (11 Jul to 12 Sep) and another free event at the Autumn Speyside Whisky Festival (10 Oct).
For potential new Mates, The Museum project was the brainchild of Dufftown 2000. The project was launched back in 1999 and a small, but successful Whisky Museum was opened in 2003. Many of the exhibits were from the Dufftown Distilleries together with some illicit stills on loan from Customs and Excise. The lease on the building ran out and the Museum had to close. In 2010, Dufftown 2000 acquired 10 Conval St and in January 2011 Dufftown 2000 managed to purchase the adjacent property, 12 Conval St. Plans are at an advanced stage to develop these 2 buildings into the new Whisky and Heritage Centre.
All funds raised by the Mates go towards the Whisky and Heritage Centre Project.
Open to Over 18's only.
