Join Iain Forteath from Tomintoul Distillery for a Whisky and Cheese Pairing Master Class with the team from the Whisky Castle at the Richmond Hall, Tomintoul. Locally produced cheeses from The Highland Cheese Company will be paired with the fantastic range of Tomintoul Malts.
As Global Brand Ambassador for Angus Dundee Distillers Iain primarily looks after luxury brands for Tomintoul, Glencadam and Old Ballantruan within the UK and overseas. Renowned for his in-depth knowledge of the whisky industry and understanding of the whisky process, Iain will guide you through a specially selected range of exquisite malts from the Tomintoul portfolio, which will be paired with specially selected, Scottish cheeses.
The evening will offer you the opportunity to gain a knowledge and understanding into the whiskies of the world famous Tomintoul distillery and also hear about how they source the very best casks for the whisky they produce. You will also gain an insight into how to pair cheese and foods in general with your favourite malts. You can ask questions and get expert feedback from a man with a vast and varying knowledge of the Whisky Industry.
The Tasting Format
6.00pm - Take your seat at your reserved table at The Richmond Hall in Tomintoul
6.15pm - Introduction and welcome to the evening by The Whisky Castle. Masterclass commences where various, specially selected single malts and locally produced cheeses will be tasted and discussed.
7.30pm - Your opportunity to put questions to Iain, with the option to buy what you have tasted during the evening, at a discounted price
8.15pm - You will be escorted to a local Hotel in Tomintoul, where you can enjoy a traditional light buffet. There is also a well-stocked whisky bar with a great Scottish atmosphere

Our Master Classes offer an opportunity to learn about and enjoy what some of our finest malts have to offer and how best to enjoy them. Please be aware that our tasting events are for over 18’s only and that 15ml measures will be poured.
