Escape to rural Glenlivet for walking, mountain biking, wildlife and whisky. Enjoy panoramic mountain views to the Cairngorms National Park. Tour the castle, coastal and whisky trails of Moray, Speyside and the Highlands
Choose from four cottages located on the side of Ben Rinnes comprising a farmhouse and three cottages in the steading building. This is a quiet, remote setting at the centre of a farm surrounded by wildlife including roe deer, rabbits, kestrels and buzzards. There is ample parking and a fenced garden area with patio furniture and barbecues. Pets are welcome. Whisky nosings and tastings by Steve Oliver are a regular event for visitors to the cottages.
Folds, the farmhouse, sleeps 2-8 in 3 bedrooms, 1 en-suite; Glenlivet sleeps 2-6 in 3 bedrooms; Dronach sleeps 2-6 in 2 bedrooms and Aberlour sleeps 2-5 in 2 bedrooms. All cottages have a good range of kitchen equipment and crockery; there is electrica heating and coal burning stoves.
Bluefolds, in Glenlivet is on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park and the Glenlivet Estate. Both of these areas have outstanding wildlife and way marked trails from which to enjoy them. Dufftown is at the centre of the Malt Whisky trail with the famous Glenfiddich distillery offering free tours and "a wee dram", as does the Glenlivet only a few miles away.
It is enjoyable to also tour the castle or coastal trails of the area. Castles include Ballindalloch, Balvenie, Huntly and Crathes and the coast includes such gems at Lossiemouth, Findhorn, Spey Bay and Cullen. There are lots of retail opportunities in Tomintoul, Dufftown, Elgin and Forres.
