Festival Film Screening

‘The Netherlands, Country of Whisky', a film by filmmaker and whisky lover Gwen Jansen will be showing during the renowned Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival in the Speyside Visitor Centre, Aberlour. The film documents the relationship between The Netherlands and Scotch Whisky.

Showing between Thursday 30th April until Monday 4th May at 2.00pm and 4.00pm, Festival attendees are invited to watch the film. On the 30th April, 1st and 2nd of May, the filmmaker herself will also be present to answer any questions. Admission is by donation to assist with the running costs of Speyside Visitor Centre which is operated by a team of local volunteers.

The film is a feast of recognition for any whisky lover who loves Scotch single malt whisky. The documentary is all about the passion for this distillate and sows how single malt whisky is made in Scotland and what the latest whisky trends are. The viewer also gets to see the far-reaching ways in which Dutch people share their passion and love for the drink. The film premiered successfully at the end of 2014 at the International film Festival ‘Film By The Sea’ in Vlissingen.

 A great honour

Filmmaker Gwen Jansen is extremely happy that her film will shortly be shown in Scotland: “Of course Scotland is the Valhalla for whisky lovers and it is the birthplace of Scottish single malt whisky for which, as you can see in the film, the Dutch will go to such incredible lengths for their passion. I regard it as a great honour that the Scots themselves want to show it now at this well known and great Whisky Festival."
