Travel to Speyside

By Car


Speyside is accessible by road from Edinburgh and Glasgow in about 3.5 hours. From Perth take the A9 North to Aviemore then the A95 down the Spey Valley AA route planner RAC route planner.

By Air


Speyside is about equidistant from Inverness and Aberdeen Airports. Aberdeen is served by flights from throughout the UK, including daily flights to an from London, as well as international destinations such as Amsterdam, Dublin, Esbjerg, Paris and Stavanger. Many attractive low cost air fares are available from a number of airlines. Direct travel to Speyside is via A96 but other routes taking in some sightseeing are easy to plan Inverness is now also attracting a greater choice for flights and prices and travelling from there is either down the A9 or the A96 towards Elgin.

By Train


Speyside is situated mid way between Aberdeen and Inverness both of which have excellent rail links to the rest of the country. The nearest intercity station is Aviemore on the Inverness line and Elgin has frequent connections in both directions.

By Bus


Intercity buses offer a frequent service to Inverness and Aberdeen with excellent onward connections.

By Sea


Since its launch in May 2002 the direct year round ferry from Zeebrugge Belgium to Rosyth, by Edinburgh.
