Exclusive Event with Meldrum House

Luxury at Meldrum House knows no bounds. This multi award-winning hotel was recently awarded Scottish Hotel Bar of the Year by Whisky Magazine. This is your chance to enjoy a luxury whisky experience and stay on a special rate for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.

Your day will start at Meldrum House at 10.15am. The hotel's minibus will take you to Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky’s HQ in Huntly where they have ownership of one of the largest privately-held collections of rare scotch whisky casks.

Not normally open to the public, this is an opportunity to get behind the scenes and see some of the most exclusive whiskies in the world. With an uncompromising focus on quality, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky is a family owned spirits business with an impressive portfolio of whisky brands including Black Bull, The Octave, Dimensions, Tantalus and The Rarest.  The company has been laying down casks from premium Scottish distilleries for decades and now owns one of the largest privately held collections of vintage and rare scotch whisky casks.  Guests will see the bottling operation and cask warehouse followed by a tasting of 2 whiskies in the Boardroom.

The minibus will then depart for Speyside where we will head to the new £140million Macallan Distillery for their Pillars Tour.  This space-age structure is located on the brand’s Easter Elchies Estate where whisky has been produced for the last 200 years. Believed to be the most expensive distillery and tourist centre in Scotland, it’s a treat for all the senses.  Get an insight into the process, production, people and passion that make their single malt whisky so special.

Afterwards, head down to Whiskies of Scotland shop in Huntly for a special dram tasting hosted by Brand Ambassador of Duncan Taylor - Fergus Simpson - before departing for Meldrum House.

At Meldrum House you can check in to your room before heading down to their brand new casual eating experience, called 1236, in their 800-year old Cave Bar.

After a great night’s sleep, the following morning have a hearty breakfast in their stunning Dining Room with views out to the golf course and estate before departure.
