The Keith & Dufftown Railway (The Whisky Line) is an eleven mile line linking the World's Malt Whisky Capital, Dufftown, to the market town of Keith. The line, which was reopened by volunteers during 2000 and 2001, passes through some of Scotland's most picturesque scenery, with forest and farmland, lochs and glens, castles and distilleries. So, do you have a couple of hours to spare? Then treat yourself to a leisurely trip through some of the most beautiful scenery in the U.K. whilst enjoying the terrific music of local ceilidh band ‘Footerin’ Aboot’.  These four lively lads, Calum, Macaulay, Rowan and Aiden will entertain you with foot tappin’ hand clappin’ traditional Scottish tunes and songs, whilst you enjoy the scenery and the complimentary dram! 2016 saw Footerin’ Aboot perform to a rapturous welcome at Speyfest, Belladrum and Bootstock; 2017 saw the release of their new EP. These talented young musicians will play for you on the 14.00 train from Dufftown and the returning 15.00 train from Keith on Friday and Saturday of the Whisky Festival. Fares are £11.00 adult return and £7.00 single. Times given are for a return journey. A complimentary dram and whisky cake or shortbread is included each way.
