The alluring mystery of Scotland draws people to the country every year to discover the secrets and sagas of our ancestry. Speyside presents a unique offering to visitors by combining Scottish heritage with one of Scotland’s most prominent cultural icons – whisky.

And with over a dozen distilleries a stone’s throw away, it is no wonder Elgin is viewed as the capital of Malt Whisky country. Elgin is also birthplace to the custodians of Single Malt, Gordon & MacPhail. Established in 1895, this family organisation has evolved from its humble beginnings to become one of the world’s leading whisky specialists.

A guided walking hike of Elgin, steeped in history and tales of times gone by, is the perfect remedy for a Sunday morning at the Whisky festival. Afterwards, take a well-earned break at the company’s Retail Shop on South Street, where you will have the opportunity to sample a selection of malts from the local distilleries.

Please be advised to wear sensible footwear and clothing for the walk and be prepared for more than a sedate stroll!
