The Laich of Moray Tour - a Journey of DiscoveryBack to events listing
- 1 May
- Glenlossie Distillery
An opportunity to visit 4 of Diageo’s distilleries, in and around Elgin, that are not usually open to the public. These are Linkwood, Glen Elgin, Glenlossie and Mannochmore. The Distillery Manager at each distillery will guide you through an in-depth tour of the production process and share with you their history and tradition.
You will be escorted on your journey by Neal Corbett Senior Site Manager for all four distilleries. Neal will share his extensive whisky industry knowledge with you as you travel to your destinations.
These four distilleries produce whisky that is considered top class malt by whisky blenders and go into important blends such as the Johnnie Walker, J&B and Bells to name a few.
The Linkwood distillery sits in Elgin, drawing its water from the springs of Millbuies Loch. Next to the distillery is a large and rather beautiful reservoir which plays host to a variety of local wildlife. Glen Elgin is an unusually distinctive Speyside malt from a little known distillery which has produced a selection of high quality single malts. Glenlossie a remarkable distillery for many reasons but the whisky produced is fairly obscure. Mannochmore built in 1971, lies hidden in the middle of the Glenlossie complex and again a fairly obscure malt.
Included in your ticket price will be Transport to the distilleries, your guided tour and an opportunity to sample the whisky at each of the distilleries. Each guest will also be presented with a gift to mark their journey.
11:30: Transport will meet you at The Laichmoray Hotel, Maisondieu Road, Elgin, IV30 1QR The transport will return to you the Laichmoray Hotel at 17:00.
