Spirit of Speyside 2008 

Wolfstone top the bill at this concert which promises to be a really “chilled-out performance” with Shooglenifty as support act. Also playing are the talented duo Ivan Drever and Duncan Chisholm, the fiddler with Wolfstone. There will be a full support programme of talented young musicians and a licensed bar.

Shooglenifty

One of the most innovative bands of recent years, Shooglenifty has a well-deserved global reputation for a fantastic show. Their energised, contemporary music has proved popular in Scotland and throughout Europe, the US and in the Far East and they have released several record-breaking albums over the last few years.

Most members of the band come from the Highlands of Scotland and have a style that has been described as “acid croft”.

Duncan Chisholm and Ivan Drever

“The duo of Duncan Chisholm and Ivan Drever goes back to their Wolfstone days, and has been an occasional diversion for both the fiddler and the singer ever since. The pair have dovetailed beautifully as a musical partnership over the years. Drever’s astute and skilled guitar work provided an ideal complement to Chisholm’s virtuosity on fiddle, both on the haunting slow tunes and skirling breakneck sets of reels.”
