Spirit of Speyside 2008 

Donnie Munro, formerly of top Scottish band Runrig, tops the bill supported by The Lush Rollers from Inverness. There will be a full support programme of talented young musicians and a licensed bar.

A native of Skye, Donnie Munro has been performing solo and with his own support group for the last few years following an extremely successful career with Runrig. Donnie’s  latest album “The Heart of America” won the Scottish Traditional Music Awards Album of the Year Award in 2006.

Since going solo in 2000 Donnie’s albums and tours with his band have been acclaimed throughout Scotland and Europe. Donnie has performed at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow and his concert at Speyfest in August 2006 was a sell-out.

Matured in the Highlands and aged in a sourmash cask, The Lush Rollers forge music from calloused hands and tough tender hearts. The thinking man's drinkers, they sing from the soul of a long week just ended, through Friday night party glee to Sunday morning remorse.
